Quorum and Chestergate Complete Sale of Poynton Industrial Estate Site
Joint venture partners Quorum Estates and Chestergate Properties have sold the recently refurbished 65,000 sq ft QC65 building.
The joint venture acquired the former manufacturing facility last year. With Mellings appointed as the main contractor, the building underwent a major refurbishment, being stripped back to its structural frame and repurposed from there.
The JV initially marketed QC65 on both a freehold and leasehold basis. Sole appointed agents, Williams Sillitoe identified a prospective purchaser early in the process allowing the joint venture developers to work closely with the business to incorporate a number of its specific operational requirements into the redevelopment.
Mark Sillitoe, director at Williams Sillitoe, says: “QC65 is a great example of what can be achieved through the comprehensive redevelopment of an existing industrial asset. Working with the prospective purchaser from an early stage allowed us to tailor the building around their requirements to build an impressive new headquarters.
“The South Manchester and Cheshire East market continues to thrive and with freehold opportunities in short supply, we were confident that this development was always going to prove popular to the owner-occupier market.”
